My 25 Most Wanted Death Battle Matchups (WIP)

Demitri vs Slayer (Darkstalkers vs Guilty Gear) Connections: Classy vampires from fighting games. General Thoughts: Kicking off this list with the fan-favourite fighting game matchup. There's no shortage of great fighting game matchups (Guile vs Jax, Cervantes vs Spinal, Liu Kang vs Jago, just to name a few examples),  Track Title: Class of their Own Jenny Wakeman vs Robotboy (Nickelodeon vs Cartoon Network) Connections: Robotic cartoon adolescent heroes. General Thoughts: Death Battle needs more cartoon fights (though they have slowly gotten better about this over the years) and more robot fights, so why not kill two birds with one stone? A few people might think that the "robotic child heroes" quota has already been fulfilled by Mega Man vs Astro Boy, but I disagree for a number of reasons. Death Battle Matchups: Trunks vs Luminary (Dragon Ball vs Dragon Quest) (WIP)

Hello, people, welcome back to another Death Battle Matchup piece. In today's blog, I'll be analysing the merits and strengths of Luminary vs Trunks. Before I begin, I have to preface this by stating the obvious and that having preferred matchups for either of these characters over the matchup I'm discussing is absolutely fine. You might completely disagree with me, and that's OK. I'm simply here to state my case, and, who knows,  Speaking of which, you may also notice within this post, and other posts I do within this series, is that I try to not bring up other matchups in direct contention with the topic at hand (e.g. X is a better/worse opponent for Y for Z reasons). I believe that a good matchup should be able to stand on its own merits without having to be compared to other matchups. Death Battle Matchups: Ridley vs Vile (Metroid vs Mega Man)

So. I'm a little late on this. Initially, this was going to be a full-on Top 10 of my favourite matchups (with 20 honourable mentions). As I made that list, however, it became increasingly apparent that my opinion would shift and sway way too much to ever get a definitive list out. Which is why, instead, I'll be doing these smaller, individual posts that go over just one specific matchup I like. Before I begin, I'd just like to clarify that if you prefer a different matchup for either Ridley or Vile, that's absolutely fine! This post isn't made to convince anyone that they're preferred matchups are terrible, it's made solely for me to have an outlet for my own personal, subjective feelings on a matchup. Predicting and Ranking Possible Death Battle Season 9 Matchups (WIP)

As the finale approaches and Season 8 of Death Battle comes to a close, I figured I'd take the opportunity to rank some matchups for the upcoming Season 9, and how likely I think they are. If your curious whether this is ranking matchups likelihood in general, or specifically for Season 9, the best answer I can give is somewhere in the middle. Also, to be clear, I'm not ranking the actual quality of the matchups, just how likely they are for Season 9. To my knowledge, it's been soft confirmed that Season 9 will have 20 episodes, so that may play into the rankings as well (although probably not too much).  And bear in mind that this is not a complete, definitive list. Let me know if you disagree with any rankings, felt I overlooked or left out anything about a particular matchup, or if I just forgot to include a matchup on the ranking.  With all that out the way, let's begin.
